Owner & Attorney at Law
I began working in the area of consumer law and finance over ten years ago. During that time, I have helped countless Montanans with financial legal issues including bankruptcy, debt collection defense, foreclosure, landlord-tenant problems, credit report errors, and more. My passion is helping everyday people defend their legal rights when it comes to their finances.
My Consumer Finance background includes:
Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellow with Montana Legal Services Association's Consumer Unit, overseeing MLSA's self-help bankruptcy program and helping low-income Montanans with consumer law issues.
American Bar Association Janet Steiger Antitrust Fellow with the Office of Consumer Protection in the Montana Attorney General's Office.
Nationally-certified financial educator and foreclosure prevention specialist with Homeword
Helped found the Montana Financial Education Coalition and the Montana Alliance for Responsible Finance to promote financial education and fair lending practices in Montana.
Drafted and lobbied for anti-predatory lending laws at the Montana Legislature.
Adjunct faculty at University of Montana School of Law (Products Liability)
Editor-in-Chief of Montana Law Review 2007-2008
I am admitted to practice in all Montana state courts, United States District Court for the District of Montana, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am proud to be a member of the State Bar of Montana, the Montana Trial Lawyers' Association, and the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
When I am not in the office, I can be found listening to old country music, chasing around the flocks and herds of animals on our growing little farmstead, and trying to keep up with my energetic husband and two daughters.
Give me a call or send me an email, I'd love to chat with you about your financial situation and help you figure out your best options for getting out of debt!
